Free Educational Workshop for People Affected By Cancer

Davenport, IA (June 2017) – Gilda’s Club will host Frankly Speaking About Cancer: Immunotherapy – a free workshop offering information on one of the most exciting new discoveries and treatments for cancer, immunotherapy. David Mercer, M.D. of Iowa Cancer Specialists will present this workshop on Tuesday, June 29, from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Gilda’s Club Quad Cities, 1234 East River Drive. Patients and their loved ones are invited to join us as we learn how the immune system interacts with cancer, treatments that are currently available as well as treatments that are being developed, and tips to manage common side effects. In addition, participants will learn about ways to cope with the social and emotional challenges of a cancer diagnosis. Created by Cancer Support Community, this workshop includes a complimentary copy of the booklet Frankly Speaking About Cancer: Immunotherapy.
