ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (March 13, 2019) — The Quad City Botanical Center is hosting Chocolate Experience, a family-friendly event for all ages.

Local chocolate-shops and bakeries will be offering samples of their tasty creations and have products for guests to purchase and take home to enjoy after Chocolate Experience. Non-edible chocolate items will also be for sale at the event.

A plant expert will be on hand in the tropical Sun Garden to introduce guests to the cacao tree and share the impact rainforest-conservation has on protecting this fruit-bearing evergreen.

Chocolate Experience is expected to welcome 1,000 guests who will have the opportunity to select a two-hour time slot to visit the vendor booths and sample chocolate products. Attendance is capped for each time slot to ease congestion and enable guests the opportunity to visit each booth. Vendors will have time to restock their booths between the time slots to ensure guests have a memorable chocolate experience.

During the Chocolate Experience, guests can enjoy the indoor and outdoor gardens and craft activities will be available for all ages.

The event had been hosted in previous years in February prior to Valentine’s Day. The harsh winter weather prompted a date change to spring to coincide with Easter and Mother’s Day.

All proceeds support the Quad City Botanical Center in its mission to connect people to plants in fun and meaningful ways. The Botanical Center is located at 2525 4th Avenue in Rock Island, Illinois.
