DAVENPORT, IOWA (November 21, 2023) — Holiday giving started early for CASI with a hugely-successful fundraising campaign. In October, a pre-event fundraiser called Pass the Hat spearheaded by Chair Gwen Tombergs and Board Member Decker Ploehn kickstarted the momentum by raising $40,000. The Hat Bash event on November 16, with over 400 attendees, rounded out the campaign bringing the total raised to over $150,000.

“Our volunteers, donors, and supporters are the reason this campaign was so successful,” commented Hat Bash Chair Gwen Tombergs. “CASI is an important asset in our community that helps so many seniors, especially low-income seniors. This funding will help them carry out their mission and the timing is perfect since a major heating repair is needed at CASI before the cold sets in our area.”

It is Senior Secret Santa time at CASI and we have hundreds of tags with the wishes from area low-income seniors ready to be fulfilled. Stop by CASI today and select a tag or two and make a senior's holiday a bit brighter.

Donations to support CASI can be made on our website at CASIseniors.org or through the mail to CASI at 1035 W Kimberly Road in Davenport, Iowa 52806.
