BETTENDORF, IOWA (April 22, 2024) — The Quad Cities Chamber will hold the first Student Success Symposium April 23, 2024, 9:30AM-1:45PM, at the RiverCenter, Davenport. The Symposium will host more than 160 juniors from eight high schools from throughout the Quad Cities.

"This serves as a call to all employers within our region to allocate resources towards the development of our youth, creating a robust talent pipeline to effectively meet the demands of our workforce,” said James Porter, Vice President, Talent and Inclusion for the Quad Cities Chamber.

Nearly thirty local businesses and organizations will participate in a hands-on career experience fair that aims to bridge the gap between industry leaders and high school students eager to explore diverse career opportunities.

Students will attend four workshops helping them to build their personal brand, creating an elevator pitch about themselves, personal finance, and a college student panel.

The keynote speaker for the event, provided by United Way Quad Cities, is Andre Norman. Known as "The Ambassador of Hope," Andre's captivating narrative, filled with personal reflections, sheds light on the transformative power of resilience and education.

The Symposium is generously funded by a grant from the Moline Regional Community Foundation.
