Blue Grass Iowa resident Michael Valerius Jr. a Peru State College online student had three written pieces published in "Peru State College Writer's Guild Leaf Press: Special Sesquicentennial 
Edition." The publication covers student writings printed selections over the course of 2015-2016 and 2016-2017 school years.
 
Michael won 3rd place is "Poetry Category:2015-2016" is the poem "Little Brown Rocks", page 73.
Also published under "Creative Non-Fiction 2015-2016" is contribution, title "Coast Guard Auxiliary"pages 63-64. Under the same category iscontribution "College Form Life and Roommate Stories" pages 65-66.
