Daz Cameron, Abraham Toro homer in series finale win

GRAND CHUTE, Wisc. --  The Quad Cities River Bandits led by as many as seven runs in an eventual 8-7 victory over the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers during an eclipse-filled afternoon at Fox Cities Stadium. Daz Cameron hit his 14th home run of the season while Abraham Toro also went deep in the win. The Bandits took three of four from the Rattlers and have guaranteed a season-series win over Wisconsin, dropping their magic number for a playoff spot to four with 13 games left.

The Bandits (37-20, 74-51) rallied for four runs in the second inning to take the lead, getting a two-run single from Ronnie Dawson, an RBI knock by Chuckie Robinson and a run-scoring double from Troy Sieber. Toro homered in the third, a solo shot and his seventh of the season, before Cameron capped off a three-run fourth with his estimated 405-foot home run to left field.
The Rattlers (25-32, 51-74) got two home runs in the fourth and fifth inning to get back within four then scored a pair in the eighth thanks in part to a bases loaded error on a ground ball that could have ended the inning. They also scored one in the ninth to get within one, but could not complete the comeback.
Yohan Ramirez (4-5) went five innings to get the win, allowing four runs on three hits and three walks while striking out three. Carlos Herrera (2-2) suffered the loss, allowing five runs on six hits in three innings of work. Jesus Balaguer came out of the bullpen to strand the bases loaded in the seventh then pitched the seventh and eighth, allowing one run, to earn his first save of the season.
The Bandits continue their swing to the Badger State with a three-game series in Beloit, Wisconsin against the Snappers. Carlos Sanabria (3-5, 4.50) gets the start for Quad Cities against RHP Matt Milburn (7-10, 4.45) for the Snappers in the opener, which is set for 7:00 p.m. CT on Tuesday.
