ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (November 28, 2023) — Spiritual leader Daniel Caño will share his experience as a Mayan author, timekeeper, professor and poet today, November 28, 7PM, at the meditation room of Augustana’s Lindberg Center, 3501 7th Ave.

The public is invited to this event which will be presented in both Spanish and English.

Originally from a small village in Huehuetenango, Guatemala, Caño has served on the political and social science faculty at Rafael Landívar University and in the Humanities Department at the Universidad del Valle of Guatemala, Altiplano.

His work is now published in multiple languages in Europe and North and South America. Caño has also been among those selected to represent Mayan peoples on municipal, departmental, and national levels of government, fighting for human rights.
