PRESS RELEASE (February 2, 2019) — With winter storms disrupting parts of the country and wildfires decimating parts of California, ADT turned to FEMA to study emergency declaration trends spanning 65 years to find out how frequently environmental threats emerge around the country and where are they most likely to strike.

To find out if you’re at risk of a natural emergency, ADT has developed an interactive disaster risk map which illustrates America’s exposure to hurricanes, fires, floods and other natural hazards. For example, Iowa led all other states in flood-related emergency declarations. See declaration analysis here.

Although natural threats are often out of our control, awareness of risk can help prevent or reduce losses caused by natural disasters. Interested in covering this so that your readers can stay as safe as possible under any natural threat? If so, feel free to use this press release or graphics from the map. We just ask that you attribute ADT by linking tohttps://www.adt.com/natural-disasters and/or Declaration Analysis somewhere in your coverage.
