With the band's sound described by Spinner.com as “a trademark style of music that somehow combines surf, pop, rock, and beat,” the psychedelic rockers of The Growlers make their debut appearance at East Moline venue The Rust Belt on September 5, treating fans to what Consequence of Sound called “ghoulish surf rock, life-affirming melodies, and a conversational delivery that turns every Growlers show into a tripped-out sermon on mushrooms and real talk.”

Performing in support of their 19th album and 38th year as international touring sensations, the alternative rockers of Osaka, Japan's Shonen Knife play the Rock Island Brewing Company on September 5, with the female musicians' 2019 release Sweet Candy Power, according to Spill magazine, a work that “proves they stand the test of time with their catchy, cheerful bops.”

Described by PopMatters as “a talent to keep an eye on,” as well as “a winning songwriter who manages to mix humor with traditional country sentiment without falling into hokey pastiche,” Nashville's Alex Williams makes his debut appearance at the Rock Island Brewing Company on August 30, his 2017 album debut Better Than Myself leading RoughStock to call the singer/songwriter “an artist who is right up there with Jamey Johnson, Jason Isbell, and Chris Stapleton.”

Lauded by the Los Angeles Times for his “commanding presence” and “a voice that can yearn with crystalline purity or howl with guttural anguish,” Nathaniel Rateliff and his band the Night Sweats close the inaugural Iron + Grain Maker Festival with a concert set on August 31, the group's most recent album Tearing at the Seams praised by Spin magazine for its “vibrant and integral horns, organ, steadily funky rhythm section, and vocalist who can carry any song without taking it over.”
