The Davenport Public Library is excited to announce that it has won a YALSA/Dollar General Summer Teen Intern Grant and will be hiring a Social Media Intern and a Creative Literacy Intern for Summer 2018. Both teen interns will work 50 hours on special projects aimed at celebrating reading and the Summer Reading Program and will earn a $500 stipend.

Join dancers from Ballet Quad Cities for an hour of movement and music as we bring the poetry of Shel Silverstein to life. Meet us at Fairmount (3000 Fairmount Street) on Thursday, March 29 at 6:00pm. Reading has never been so much fun as everyone learns to “dance me a story.”

Join us each month as we highlight a different craft chosen especially for older children and teens. We’ll meet at Eastern (6000 Eastern Avenue) at 4:00pm on Tuesday, March 27 and Tuesday, April 24. In March we’ll explore quilting and in April we’ll try our hand at found art. These classes are appropriate for children ages 8 and up.
