Hand In Hand Special Needs Expo

The Hand In Hand  "Special Need Expo" will be provided for families, caregivers and educators on Saturday April 5, 2014 from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM.  This event will provide "one stop shopping" on a wide range of services for children with intellectual and physical disabilities in the Quad Cities.
Literature and resources people will be available to provide information regarding programs for special needs children from birth to 21 years of age.  Iowa and Illinois activities information will include :  Camps, support groups, financial support and resources to assist parents working with their children's school.  This year also includes unique activities such as adapted water skiing and a special fishing program for individuals with disabilities call "Fishing With No Boundaries"   Adapted baseball, art classes and "sled hockey" and horseback riding programs are also available..  This Hand In Hand event is free to the public.

Hand In Hand Chili Cookoff

HAND IN HAND'S ANNUAL CHILI COOK-OFF SATURDAY, JANUARY 25th, 2014 FROM 2;30 - 7:00 P.M. AT THE MISSISSIPPI VALLEY FAIR'S NEW FAIR CENTER (WHICH IS LOCATED ON THE WESTSIDE OF THE FAIRGROUNDS). IT IS A GREAT EVENT...LOTS OF PEOPLE, CREATIVE BOOTH, AND NUMEROUS OF HUMOROUS STORIES ABOUT PEOPLE AND THEIR "BELOVED CHILI". OF COURSE THE CHILI IS VERY TASTY TOO.

WANTED CHILI TEAMS...Hand In Hand's Chili Cook-off

Hand In Hand's Annual Chili Cook-off is looking for chili teams who wish to complete for the title of Best Chili In The Quad Cities.  Both restaurants, area businesses and individuals with their own great chili will participate in this event every year.  If you think you make amazing chili, come and compete with the best in our community during this fun afternoon of chili tasting.  The Hand In Hand Chili Cook-off will take place on Saturday January 25, 2014 from 2:30 -7:00 PM at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds.
There are several chili judging categories including:  Judges Choice (celebrity judges) and People's Choice (selected by ballot) for best individual and for best restaurant chili.  Last year over 12,000 chili samples were served by 21 teams to 1,350 participants.  Teams must bring 10 gallons of their fantastic chili. Prizes, plaques and bragging rights are all available. WE ALSO HAVE A TEAM FROM DES MOINES CALL "HOG CALLING CHILI" WHO HAS WON MANY COOK-OFF CONTESTS AND WAS INTERVIEWED BY THE "TODAY SHOW".
