AMES, IA (06/06/2017)-- Abbigail Sird of Davenport (52806), an Incoming First-Year Student in the Iowa State University College of Human Sciences, participated in Orientation on the Ames campus, June 6-7. Sird, who has opted to major in Kinesiology and Health, joined other students and their families to become more familiar with the campus, learn tips for making the most of college, and sign up for classes.

AMES, IA (05/15/2017)-- The excellence of students' business ideas and proposals was recognized with awards April 27, 2017, at the Entrepreneurship Showcase hosted by the Iowa State University College of Human Sciences.

Madison Davis of Davenport, IA (52807), was recognized with runner-up in the Most Sustainable Business Proposal for her and her team's "Beckham's" business proposal. Davis worked alongside Allison Hockensmith and Kayla Finn to develop their business proposal.

AMES, IA (05/12/2017)-- Beth Baustian of Davenport, Iowa, has been named a Louise Rosenfeld Undergraduate Research Intern in the Iowa State University College of Human Sciences.

AMES, IA (05/12/2017)-- The Iowa State University National Agri-Marketing Association (ISU NAMA) received the 4th place John Deere Signature Award. This award is based on a points system from work through an entire year. The chapter receives points for the chapter membership and participation, projects and activities, application and receipt of scholarships, participation in the student marketing competition, and receipt of other national awards. AMES, IA (05/08/2017)-- Iowa State University's Leadership Studies Program, administered by the Carrie Chapman Catt Center for Women and Politics, is an interdisciplinary program designed for students in all majors and provides a strong foundation for leadership, communication and organizational theory.

AMES, IA (04/07/2017)-- Eight undergraduate students from the Iowa State University College of Human Sciences presented their research to Iowa legislators at the Iowa State Capitol on March 28. The event, titled Research in the Capitol, invites Iowa Regent university students each year to the Iowa capitol building to highlight the importance of research in the undergraduate college experience.

AMES, IA (03/22/2017)-- Cole Neese, Davenport, was among the 22 named award recipients at the annual Iowa State University Agricultural Business Club Banquet in front of university and industry representatives, friends and family.

Neese was the recipient of the Outstanding Club Member - Freshman. Paired with the award is a $750 Mark Deiter scholarship.

AMES, IA (03/22/2017)-- Danielle Manna of Geneseo, IL (61254) will receive a scholarship from the Iowa State University College of Human Sciences to support a student teaching experience. Manna is a senior studying Elementary Education. Students who are selected to receive this scholarship may use it to offset the cost of living while gaining relevant experience to advance their career.
