MOLINE, ILLINOIS (April 19, 2024) — The Black Box Theatre will be holding auditions for the all-male acapella musical All is Calm: The Christmas Truce of 1914. Music directing will be Ron May with direction and design by Lora Adams.

“We produced the piece in 2022 and so many people asked us to do it again,” said Adams. “It is a truly unique and beautiful story that stirs the soul,” added May.

Well, “Jeff and Hunter, two self-confessed nobodies in New York, make a pact: They will write an original musical and submit it to a festival. The only catch? The deadline is in three weeks! They gather their two actress friends, Susan and Heidi, and their accompanist and music director, Larry, on the keys.

MOLINE, ILLINOIS (November 11, 2022) — In September 2022, The Black Box Theatre performed My Brother’s Gift, as a part of the Out of Darkness: Holocaust Messages for Today initiative. The play is based on the remarkable, true story of Heinz Geiringer, neighbor and friend of Anne Frank. The production will air on WQPT on November 17, 8PM, and will be followed by a short documentary on the Anne Frank Exhibit in Danville, Iowa.
