Des Moines, IA  – Susan G. Komen Greater Iowa today announced nearly $330,000 in new community grants for 2018-2019.  Susan G. Komen has a bold goal to reduce current breast cancer deaths by 50 percent in the U.S.

(ROCK ISLAND, IL) NormaLeah Ovarian Cancer Initiative is pleased to present Sisterly Advice to BEAT Ovarian Cancer, translated into Spanish at the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Mississippi Valley located at 338 6th Street, Moline. The session will be held on Sunday, May 6th, 2018 at 2 p.m. This one- hour educational session is free of charge and open to the public. Men are welcome, free childcare will be provided and light refreshments will be served. Reservations are requested.

DAVENPORT, Dec. 19, 2018 – The Kenneth H. McKay Center for Breast Health at Genesis has received the highest level of recognition from National Quality Measures for Breast Health (NQMBC).

The Kenneth H. McKay Center for Breast Health is only the second center in Iowa and is the only center in the region to earn recognition as a Certified Quality Breast Center of Excellence. Only 53 centers nationally have earned the recognition.

Stress Management Program Gives Patients Information and Ways to Manage Their Health throughout the Cancer Journey DAVENPORT, IA – APRIL 2018 – Beginning Saturday, April 21, 2018, Gilda’s Club is offering an online program to help people diagnosed with cancer, including those undergoing treatment, to manage the stress of diagnosis and treatment. Gilda’s Club received a grant from the Iowa Cancer Consortium to address the unique needs of young adults 18-39 with cancer.
