Clinton, IA – The most requested musical by our audience, Grease, is the fourth show in the Showboat’s Season of American Classics and will run from July 21-31.

 

The original high school musical follows bad-boy Danny and girl-next-door Sandy at Rydell High after a summer fling. This Tony nominated musical includes electrifying hits such as “You’re The One That I Want”, “Grease Is The Word”, “Summer Nights”, “Hopelessly Devoted To You”, “Greased Lightning”, and more!

 

Scott Hunt will make his Showboat debut as the Director for Grease. As an actor, Scott has appeared in the Broadway and National Touring Productions of Rent (Mark Cohen) and Les Miserables (Marius). As a director, he has staged productions for North Shore Stage in Columbus, Ohio (Sunset Blvd, Cabaret) and Write State University in Dayton, Ohio (Rent).

 

The Grease cast is comprised of incredible professional company members including Jon Loya (Danny) who was last seen as Cable in South Pacific, Holly Moss (Sandy) last seen as Zaneeta in The Music Man, Elizabeth Stone (Rizzo) who was last seen as Nellie in South Pacific, Cash Maciel (Roger) last seen as Luther Billis in South Pacific, Christian Klepac (Kenickie) seen as Tommy in The Music Man, and Gillian Han (Patty) last seen as Liat in South Pacific. The fantastic local company members include Allison Winkel who will play Marty, Derrick Bertram who will be playing Sonny, and Audrey Simpson who will play Cha Cha.

 

The iconic American rock musical, Grease, will be presented from July 21-31, followed by the final show of the season, The Glass Menagerie written by the great Tennessee Williams, which will run from August 4-13.

 

The Clinton Area Showboat Theatre will be unveiling their much anticipated 2017 season at the closing follies event on July 26th at 7:00 PM along with special performances from the professional and local company.
