DIXON, IOWA (October 16, 2024) — On Saturday, October 26, 10AM, there will be a Mushroom Foray held at the Wapsi River Environmental Education Center in Dixon, Iowa. Join Caleb Musser, Vice President of the Prairie States Mushroom Club (iowamushroom.org/), and Dave Murcia, Director of the Wapsi River Center, in an exploration of the grounds looking for Fall mushrooms while incorporating Leave No Trace principles and The Honorable Harvest. It is recommended you wear closed-toe shoes, dress for the season including long pants, and bring a water bottle. Online registration is required. The Wapsi River Environmental Education Center can be found six miles south of Wheatland or 1 mile northwest of Dixon, Iowa by taking County Road Y4E. Then turn north at 52nd Avenue and follow the signs for about one mile.
