ELDRIDGE, IOWA (June 13, 2024) — Countryside Community Theatre is thrilled to announce its upcoming production of the 2008 Tony Award winner for Best Musical In the Heights, with performances scheduled from June 28 to July 7 at the North Scott Fine Arts Auditorium, 200 S 1st Street, Eldridge, Iowa. In the Heights, created by Lin-Manuel Miranda (creator of the Hamilton phenomenon), transports audiences to the vibrant neighborhood of Washington Heights in New York City. The story follows Usnavi, a bodega owner with big dreams, and the diverse community that surrounds him, all of whom are grappling with their own hopes, challenges, and cultural heritage. With its infectious music, dynamic choreography, and heartfelt narrative, "In the Heights" is a celebration of life, love, and the resilient spirit of community.

Director Kris Doss has brought together a talented cast and crew to bring this electrifying story to life. Audiences can expect an immersive experience filled with powerful performances, stunning sets, and show-stopping musical numbers such as "96,000," "Paciencia y Fe," and the title song "In the Heights."

"This production is about community and about hope” said Director Kris Doss. “I feel like we capture that well with every single person in this show approaching this process with passion and a glimmer in their eyes as they see what this production means to not only us, but the community as well.”

Join us for an unforgettable journey to Washington Heights and experience the magic of In the Heights. This production promises to be a highlight of the Quad Cities summer theatre season, celebrating the rich tapestry of American life and the power of dreams.
