The Iowa City Community Theatre will be bringing the production of "The Diary of Anne Frank" to the stage this April. The powerful memoirs of a young Jewish girl are brought to life, as she is forced to hide to evade Nazi persecution.
Here is a synopsis: The Diary of Anne Frank is a stage adaptation of the book, The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank. The book are the memoirs of a young Jewish girl, forced to hide for nearly two years to escape Nazi persecution, during World War II.
The cast features Serena Collins (Anne Frank), Chuck Dufano (Otto Frank), Kathy Maxey (Edith Frank), Melissa Kaska (Margot Frank), Erin Mills (Miep Gies), Grant Blades (Peter Van Daan), Brad Quinn (Mr. Kraler), Kristen Schneider (Mrs. Van Daan), Rip Russell (Mr. Van Daan), Kevin Burford (Mr. Dussel), Mary Lu Callahan (Ensemble), Ben Nelson (Ensemble) and Trent Yoder (Ensemble).
Additionally, a live panel discussion featuring local personalities from varying backgrounds will be free and open to the public and begin after the first matinee, on April 23rd, Holocaust Remembrance Day. Please check the ICCT website for more details about this event as we get closer to the show.
