Coming this May 11 at 7:00 p.m. (local time), Fathom Events and Rhino Records will bring the Grateful Dead to the big screen for the 6th Annual, “Grateful Dead Meet-Up at the Movies 2016.”  This one night special event captures the legendary band’s (Jerry Garcia, Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann, Phil Lesh, Brent Mydland, and Bob Weir) previously unreleased concert, as they open their tour in front of a sell-out crowd of 60,000 fans at Sullivan Stadium in Foxboro, Massachusetts on July 2, 1989.
At the event, audiences will also enjoy an interview with Grateful Dead’s David Lemieux on the upcoming 12-Disc July 1978: The Complete Recordings, as well as previously unseen performance footage with Dead & Company (featuring Hart, Kreutzmann, Weir, singer/guitarist John Mayer, Allman Brothers’ bassist Oteil Burbridge, and “Fare Thee Well” and RatDog keyboardist Jeff Chimenti).
Tickets for “Grateful Dead Meet-Up at the Movies 2016” can be purchased online by visiting www.FathomEvents.com or at participating theater box offices. For a complete list of theater locations visit the Fathom Events website (theaters and participants are subject to change).
