Free Class Helps Professionals Learn More about Children’s Mental Health Disorders 

DAVENPORT, Iowa (JULY 25, 2016) –   NAMI BASICS is a free class for foster parents and healthcare, education, social work professionals. This nationally-developed class focuses on serious mental health conditions in children and adolescents, and its impact on the family. A 15-hour continuing education credit is available for Iowa foster parents.

 

Course topics include the biology of mental illness, an overview on treatment options, and an overview of the systems involved in providing care. Register through August 26.

 

The program is six-weeks long and is offered from on Thursday evenings beginning September 8 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the NAMI office, 1706 Brady Street, Suite 101, Davenport.
