Davenport, IA – February 18, 2016 – KWQC-TV is pleased to announce that John Mann has been appointed Vice President & General Manager of the local NBC affiliate in Davenport, IA. Mann was promoted to this position after serving as the station’s General Sales Manager since 2012.
Mann has more than 35 years of experience in media sales, sales management and station management. Throughout his successful career, he has held a variety of leadership roles, including President & General Manager, General Sales Manager, National Sales Manager and Local Sales Manager, at stations in small, medium and major television markets across the U.S.
In his most recent role as General Sales Manager for KWQC-TV, Mann maximized revenue and audience growth through strategic planning and tactical execution. As a result, the station increased its audited core revenue share in 2013, 2014 and 2015 to the highest achieved since 2004. In addition, he transformed the culture to fully embrace, focus on and implement digital sales initiatives that helped earn KWQC-TV the number one audited digital revenue share in the marketplace.
In his new role that is effective immediately, Mann will provide strategic direction, leadership and operational management for KWQC-TV. He will report to Bob Peterson, Vice President of Broadcast Markets for Media General.

Mann received his Bachelor degree in Broadcast Journalism, with a minor in Political Science, from Bowling Green State University. He resides in Davenport, Iowa with his wife Ginny. John and Ginny are new “empty nesters,” their son Wyatt is a professional musician who lives and works in South Bend, Indiana.
