ROCK ISLAND, IL (04/19/2016)-- Two Augustana students performed a vocal recital on Sunday, April 10 in Wallenberg Hall. Selections from the recital included "Chanson d'avril" by George Bizet among others. The students were accompanied by Sheila Doak on piano, Emma Stough and Kayla Jackson on flute, and tenor Jacob Weidner.

Eight Augustana students performed in a general student recital on Tuesday, April 5 in Wallenberg Hall. Selections included "Sonate in A Major, Op. 12, No. 2" by Ludwig van Beethoven, among others.
Student recitals at Augustana College are a requirement for those pursuing a major in music performance. Other students pursuing a major or minor in music related to composition, general music, or education are highly encouraged to perform in a recital to showcase their progress and musicality.

Augustana College Theatre Arts Department in conjunction with Opera@Augustana will present "Sweeney Todd", music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by Hugh Wheeler, in Potter Theatre April 29-May 1 and May 6-8. Sweeney Todd will be the last production in Potter Theatre prior to the move to the new Brunner Theatre Center.
