Nielsen Station Index ratings for February 2016 proved that the Quad Cities market continues to prefer KWQC-TV6 for local and national news.

KWQC-TV6 News outperformed the competition at 5 a.m., 6 a.m., 4 p.m., 5 p.m., 6 p.m., and 10 p.m., in household ratings and in most cases outperformed in the key demographics sought by advertisers by at least a two to one margin.

The top story in the February book was TV6 News at 5 p.m., which showed a substantial year to year ratings increase producing a two to one lead over the closest competitor in households, Persons 25-54, and Women 25-54.

TV6 News Director, Rich Kurz said “We couldn’t be happier with our performance across the board, but we’re especially proud of our performance at 5 p.m.”

Jeopardy! delivered a strong lead-in to KWQC-TV6 News at 5 with a rating that topped the closest competitor by seventeen points.

America’s Game®, Wheel of Fortune, proved once again to be Quad Cities’ game, winning the household demographic three to one and delivering a two to one margin in Persons 25-54 and Women 25-54.

NBC’s Today Show and Nightly News with Lester Holt prove to be the network news of choice for the Q.C.A.  Both shows outperformed the other networks in households and key demographics.

Primetime on NBC beat out the competition in Persons 25-54.  The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon continues to dominate late night viewing with key demographic ratings that more than double the late night alternatives.

“We have a great team of people here who work hard every day to deliver the best content to our viewers on both sides of the river,” said VP/General Manager, John Mann. “It’s always gratifying to see our efforts result in audience growth as validated by Nielsen.”
