MILAN, IL – Created to inspire employees to embrace a healthier lifestyle through diet and exercise, Group O developed a fun and educational challenge entitled “Lose it 2 Win It” (L2W) resulting in 2,469 pounds lost.
Launched in May 2015, over 200 Group O employees registered to participate in L2W Challenge. This voluntary 6 month program offers educational seminars, access to a certified trainer, monthly incentives, and a chance to win the grand prize of $5,000 for most weight percentage lost. Additional prizes for second and third place are awarded in the amounts of $2,500 and $1,000 respectively. The inaugural program was so successful that Group O offered a supplemental 8-week holiday challenge to keep participants focused over the holiday season with the added incentive to win $2,000.
The 2016 challenge just completed, which included a group competition and a final weigh in and award ceremony on September 27. Group O President and CEO Gregg Ontiveros presented winners with prizes totaling over $12,000. This year’s top three winners were, Aron Masiker who lost an incredible 29.61% body weight, Jessica Sanders at 29.49% (a mere half a pound difference from first place) and Dan Wisely losing 25%! The total value of prizes and awards distributed to date is over $35,000.
“Our employees are our greatest assets,” said Gregg Ontiveros, “we are committed to providing them with resources and programs to support their choice to live healthy lifestyles.”
In addition to the Win it 2 Lose It Challenge, Group O offers Healthy, Wealthy, and Wise programs including a Walk at Work initiative.
