WHAT'S HAPPENING? Cure It With Corn: Live Music, Food, Drinks, and Kids' Activities to Raise Mone for Life-Saving Leukemia Research and Treatment and the Iowa Marrow Donor Program.
James "Jimmy" Lange, a LeClaire Paramedic with Medic EMS, was diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia in October 2014. This form of leukemia is a long, drawn-out type. One day, Jimmy went to the doctor and was basically told, there was nothing he could do right now to help himself. Jimmy replied: "I can do something, let's find a cure for leukemia!" With that, he rallied a group of people on Facebook at www.facebook.com/cureitwithcorn, and this led to the event, Cure It With Corn.
Please note: This is not a fundraiser for Jimmy; rather, it is his brain child. This is a fundraiser to raise money to help find a cure for leukemia.
