A terrifically popular touring comedian whose credits include the release of three comedy albums and guest-starring on the Emmy Award-winning Inside Amy Sxchumer, Mark Normand performs four individual standup sets at Davenport's Raccoon Motel, his July 29 and 30 shows treating audiences to the talent whom, in 2019, was recognized by Jerry Seinfeld as "the best young up-and-coming comic that we should keep our eyes on.”
Normand was born in New Orleans, and after performing stand-up at Lucy's Retired Surfer Bar in his hometown beginning in 2006, he relocated to New York, where he currently resides. He regularly performs at comedy clubs and colleges across the country, and has been featured at numerous festivals, including the Bridgetown Comedy Festival, Seattle International Comedy Competition, Boston Comedy Festival, Melbourne International Comedy Festival. In 2011, Normand was picked as one of Comedy Central’s “Comics to Watch,” while the following year, the comedian appeared on John Oliver’s New York Standup Show on Comedy Central. One year after that, he won Caroline’s March Madness competition, beating out 63 other comedians; was featured as an official "New Face" at Just for Laughs in Montreal; and was voted Village Voice’s “Best Comedian of 2013."
Normand's standup special on Comedy Central's The Half Hour was released in 2014, the same year he released an album with Comedy Central Records titled Still Got It, which was recorded at Comedy on State in Madison, Wisconsin. The comic's hour-long Comedy Central special Don't Be Yourself was released in 2017 as both a TV event and an album, and a third recording, Out to Lunch, debuted in 2020. Over the course of his career, Normand has appeared on Conan (six times), The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, The Late Late Show with James Corden, TruTv, Best Week Ever, Last Comic Standing, and @midnight. Additionally, in 2013 and 2015, Normand enjoyed guest-star appearances on Inside Amy Schumer, and in 2016, guested on the Emmy-nominated dramedy Horace & Pete.
