BETTENDORF, IOWA (January 28, 2025) — The Rock Island Downtown Alliance in partnership with Lavish Salon & Spa and Afterimage Boutique are excited to present the Sweetheart Shop Hop on Saturday, February 8. The Valentine’s Day-themed event aims to encourage community members to shop, dine, drink, and play at their favorite participating businesses. From yoga and hair styling to art, antiques, clothing, and permanent jewelry — plus stand-out food and drink destinations — there is something for everyone to enjoy during the Shop Hop.

Businesses are offering exclusive deals and prizes to patrons on this single-day event, and customers are challenged to visit at least five places to complete a bingo-style stamp card available for pickup at each participating location.

Completed cards must be turned in by 4PM to Lavish Salon and Spa to be entered to win downtown business gift cards and a grand-prize total makeover (hair, makeup and outfit) from Lavish and Afterimage Boutique. Prize-winners will be announced the following week.

“Inspired by our popular Hunt for the Holiday Train, Lavish and Afterimage dreamed up this creative event,” said Jack Cullen, Executive Director of the Rock Island Downtown Alliance. “We’re happy to support it to drive more traffic to businesses in the middle of winter and continue to build a stronger sense of community downtown.”
