FALLS CHURCH, VIRGINIA (March 19, 2019) — The Defense Health Agency announced today that TRICARE beneficiaries in 21 counties in Iowa may receive emergency-prescription refills until April 1, 2019 if they need them as a result of recent flooding. This is in addition to the waiver issued March 18 for the entire state of Nebraska. The Nebraska waiver ends March 25, 2019.

Impacted counties in Iowa include: Butler, Cerro Gordo, Clayton, Hancock, Harrison, Humboldt, Ida, Iowa, Kossuth, Mills, Monona, Montgomery, O'Brien, Pottawattamie, Sioux, Webster, Winnebago, Winneshiek, Woodbury, Worth, and Wright.

To receive an emergency refill of prescription-medications, beneficiaries can take their prescription container to any TRICARE retail network pharmacy.

TRICARE is the military’s health benefit, covering more than 46,200 and 61,700 beneficiaries in Iowa and Nebraska respectively.

To find a network pharmacy:

• Call Express Scripts at 1-877-363-1303.

• Search the network pharmacy locator at https://www.express- scripts.com/TRICARE/pharmacy.

If possible, visit the pharmacy where the prescription was filled. For a retail chain, beneficiaries can fill the prescription at another store in that chain. If the health-care provider is available, he or she may call in a new prescription to any network pharmacy.

As a reminder, TRICARE beneficiaries do not need a referral to receive care from urgent care providers. They can receive urgent care from any TRICARE-authorized urgent care center or provider. This allows beneficiaries to seek nonemergency care for illnesses or injuries if their primary-care provider is unavailable because of weather disruptions.

Beneficiaries are advised to visit www.tricare.mil/disaster for updates.
