SHERRARD, ILLINOIS (March 5, 2019) — The Sherrard Public Library District is excited to introduce its new Director, Tori Drews! With a background in youth services, information technology and community development, Drews hopes to lead the library in continuing its exceptional service.

"The library team is dedicated to excellent customer service and making a space that is accommodating, and I'm thrilled to bring my energy to that initiative," Drews expressed. "I look forward to meeting community members, hearing about what they need from the library, and helping to make that happen."

Drews earned a Master's Degree in Library and Information Science from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and specialized in Community Informatics. "No one ever knows what that means," she jokes, "but at its simplest, it's the study of community empowerment-particularly using technology." Prior, she worked with Young Adults at the East Moline Public Library.

"Stop by the library anytime to say hi! I enjoy getting to know our community. You might even find your next favorite read while you're here!"
