EAST MOLINE, ILLINOIS (April 28, 2022) — The East Moline Community Fund is hosting the first-ever “Taste of East Moline” fundraiser tonight, 5:30-7:30PM, at The Rust Belt.

The sold-out event features eighteen local food vendors offering bite-sized samples of their culinary offerings.

Vendors participating include: Combine, Cones on the Corner, Damion’s Rib Haven, G’s Gourmet Popcorn, Happy Joes, Hyatt Place, Hy-Vee, Jewel, Junior’s Sports Bar and Grill, Midwest Ale Works, Olde Town Bakery, QC Plate Me, Revive Café, Rudy’s Tacos, St Giuseppe’s, The Palace, Uncle Rich’s Coney Island Hot Dogs, and Tap 22.

Live music will be provided by Bobbie Ray Bunch; raffles and a wine pull round out this unique fundraiser. Proceeds raised will support the annual grantmaking of the East Moline Community Fund. East Moline Glass is the presenting sponsor.

Local entrepreneur Jeff Harrop of the Combine stated, “It’s just natural to take part in this. You really can’t get any better publicity than participating.”

Event Committee Chair Jennifer von Kaenel stated, “Not only will this event promote the variety of wonderful food options available in East Moline, it will raise money to support area non-profits.  A win-win for everyone.”

The East Moline Community Fund, a partner fund of The Moline Foundation, raises endowed funds, allocates grants for charities benefitting East Moline, and accepts legacy and estate gifts.

Members of the East Moline Community Fund Advisory Council include: Chair Connie Dowsett; Vice-Chairman Larry Anderson; Secretary/Treasurer Bill Phares; and Members: Kimberly Crane, Eric Davis, Willie Ellis, Cathie Rochau, Shaun Taylor, Matt Wright, and Jen von Kaenel.
