Spring has arrived at the Quad City Botanical Center! Throughout the month of April, the QCBC will be hosting a variety of spring related events and activities for the whole community to enjoy. We start off Spring with our April Showers and April Flowers Sunday Family Funday on April 2nd.

•Drop in anytime between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. to join in on the fun.
•Cost is covered with general admission to the QCBC or with membership.
 
Up next is the Houseplant Management Seminar on Tuesday, April 4th. Bring your houseplants to the botanical center for a how-to and hands-on class.
 
•Cost is included with general admission or with membership.
•Please bring your own set of pruners.
•Any soil needed will be provided for you. Call 309.794.0991 Ext. 209 with any questions!
 
It’s time to get your gardens in shape! Garden Guru Spring Bootcamp is on Saturday, April 8th. 
 
•Bring your favorite hand pruners and garden gloves! 
•Learn hands on techniques of pruning, dividing and planting.
•$10 non-members and free for members
 
Kindernature Hug a Book on Tuesday, April 11th. In collaboration with the Rock Island Public Library’s “Hug-a-book” program.
 
•Free admission to this program that includes stories, songs and nature education.
•Everyone gets a free book!
 
Sunday, April 23rd the QCBC will be hosting one of our most popular family activities, Pixies and Pirates!
 
•Dress up the kiddos as a pixie or pirate and participate in a day full of themed crafts and activities. Snacks will be provided along with a special appearance by real life pixie and pirate!
•Reservations will be sold in amounts of 250 for 2 different times. The a.m. session will be from 10a.m-12p.m. The p.m. session will be from 12:30p.m.-2:30p.m. Only 250 reservations are available for each time slot.
•Cost is $13 for youth (2-16) and $10 for adults until 4/16. After 4/16 the prices becomes $15 for all reservations so save your spot soon!
 
Finally, we end April with our Plant it forward week! April 24th-29th. 27th Plant Sale and Pre-order Pick up. 28th-29th Plant Sale. The Stock Plant Sale will feature a selection of chocolate-themed plants, vegetables and heirloom tomatoes, and unique tropicals all nurtured here at home, in the gardens or greenhouses of the Botanical Center.  
 
• 28th-29th Plant Sale from 9am to 5pm.
• Quad City Botanical Center members are invited to attend the Plant Sale Preview on Thursday April 27, 5-7p.m.
