DAVENPORT, IOWA (November 14, 2019) — Tony Knobbe, Scott County Board Chair announced the appointment of Angela Kersten as Scott County Engineer. The Board formally approved her appointment at their meeting on November 14 at 5PM. Kersten’s official start date will be January 1, 2020. Knobbe indicated the Board members were pleased they were able to appoint an internal candidate with a great level of experience and qualifications.

Kersten has 19 years of experience in public service and began her career as a Project Engineer for Des Moines County. She then served as the Project Engineer and Assistant County Engineer in Clinton County for 9 years. Since 2010, Kersten has served as Scott County’s Assistant County Engineer. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Iowa and later obtained her Professional Engineers license from the State of Iowa in January, 2004. She has been an active member of the Iowa County Engineer’s Association for over 17 years and often presents on construction projects.

Kersten, husband Kelly, and their 3 children live in rural Scott County where they are able to enjoy outdoor activities. Kersten is an avid runner and competes in local triathlons and running events. She is active in the community and has coached Dad’s Club and Future Lady Knights basketball teams. She is also involved with her children’s schools and presents Junior Achievement lessons to the second grade class.
