SCC President, Dr. Lyn Cochran, brought in her 1970 Chevy C-10, appropriately named "Dr. Baby" for its robin's egg baby blue paint, for the SCC Auto Collision Repair (ACR) students to enjoy. Her truck has a 350 small block engine with an Edelbrock high-rise intake, 22" Mickey Thompson Sportsman tires, Weld Racing wheels, Hurst competition shifter, and a modified fuel cell and Ford transmission in the rear for drag racing. Dr. Cochran is a member of the Iowa Street Rod Association and, although she does not drag race, her truck is classified as a Pro Street Rod. The students enjoyed exploring the customized wheels and listening to the rumble of the engine. Dr. Cochran, who began as the SCC President in August 2017, quickly gained the respect of the ACR students as a fellow auto enthusiast.
