Yesterday, June 26, 2017, the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office scored the Senate version of the Republican Repeal and Ripoff health care bill and it's as big a problem as ever for Iowa and Congressmen Blum and Young. Under this bill, Iowa would see:

  • $722 premium increases in 2018
  • 123,505 residents lose private insurance coverage
  • $111,154,687 cost increases for hospitals due to uncompensated care

"Republicans in Washington are responsible for the health care mess and Iowa families will hold Reps. Blum and Young responsible for the higher costs and loss of coverage caused by the reckless Republican repeal," said DCCC spokesperson Rachel Irwin. "There is nowhere Reps. Blum and Young can hide from this bill and the disastrous effects it will have on Iowa families."
