BETTENDORF, IOWA (November 22, 2024) — Speaker of the Iowa House Pat Grassley (R-New Hartford) announced Representative Gary Mohr (R-Bettendorf) will continue to serve as the Chair of the Iowa House Appropriations Committee for the 91st General Assembly.

"I really appreciate Speaker Grassley's faith in me to continue to lead the Iowa House's state budget committee," Rep Mohr said. "In Iowa, we've gotten so good at passing balanced budgets, we barely even talk about it anymore. But look no further than our neighbors to the East to see just how wrong things can go when you don't implement strong budgeting principles. I promise to continue to be a good steward of Iowans' money as I continue in this role for another General Assembly."Mohr will serve his fifth term in the Iowa House beginning on January 13, 2024. He has served as Chair of House Appropriations since 2019.

Speaker Grassley also announced the addition of Rep Mike Vondran (R-Davenport), who will serve as the 91st Assembly’s Chair of the Iowa House Public Safety Committee.

"I am honored to be named Chair of the Public Safety Committee in my second term by Speaker Pat Grassley," said Rep Vondran. "Many people choose Iowa as their home, in part, because of our safe communities. I'm very grateful for the opportunity to serve in this capacity to ensure Iowa remains a safe place to live and raise a family."

Rep Vondran will serve his second term in the Iowa House beginning on January 13, 2024.
