ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (August 8, 2019) — Several Quad Cities-area business executives will lead the American Heart Association’s Quad Cities Go Red for Women efforts this year as part of the event’s Executive Leadership Team.

Brooke Hintze and Stefanie Beason with Ruhl + Ruhl Realtors will serve as co-chairs of the 2019 Quad Cities Go Red for Women event, and they are joined by community leaders who will help lead fundraising efforts for the event. The Quad Cities Go Red for Women raises funds to support women’s heart health and the mission of the American Heart Association to create a world of longer, healthier lives.

“We have all seen the pretty red dresses and have heard the name — but it wasn’t until a friend here in the Quad Cities shared her passion for the American Heart Association and the work it does that it all really clicked for me. Heart disease — the #1 killer of women — doesn’t discriminate. It doesn’t just affect those who have a family history, are older or lead an unhealthy lifestyle. We are ALL at risk,” said Hintze.

“At the Go Red event, I heard stories how heart disease can affect anyone. Any age, any size, and any shape. That was a real eye opener to me as a younger adult who is in shape. In my mind the risk of heart disease was near zero percent. My why is awareness, I hope to spread awareness and knowledge to women. It is the number one killer among women taking more lives annually than all cancers combined. I hope people attending will get as much benefit as me and live longer healthier lives!” said Beason.

Nearly two dozen community leaders will join Hintze and Beason in the efforts to plan and coordinate the event, which will be held on Thursday, October 24, 5-8PM, at The RiverCenter in Davenport. Attendees will enjoy networking, mingling, Go Red Diva Area, vendor expo, silent auction, plated dinner, and inspirational speakers. Go Red for Women is sponsored nationally by CVS Health. The Quad Cities Go Red for Women event is sponsored locally by Ruhl and Ruhl Realtors, Royal Neighbors of America, American Bank and Trust, Smart Toyota of Quad Cities, McCarthy-Bush Corporation, and Lesa Buck of Ruhl and Ruhl Realtors, as well as several other local business supporters who have purchased tables for the event.
