DAVENPORT, IOWA (November 8, 2023) — Rock Island native Ryan Flaherty brings his band Muddy Ruckus home to perform live at Raccoon Motel (315 E 2nd Street, Davenport) on November 24, 7PM, in support of their new album Vacationland.

Over a year in the making and hard-packed with fourteen tracks, Muddy Ruckus’ fourth album Vacationland is a low roar that'll shake your bones and make you “beat your chest ‘til your heart falls out.” A collection of red-hot songs that blend psychedelic rock, punk blues, and fiery lyrics into a sound that’s uniquely Muddy Ruckus. Featuring tracks with legendary harmonicist James Montgomery and low-rock saxophonist Dana Colley of Morphine.

Vacationland rocks like it's opening a portal to another dimension.” — Motif Magazine

The show at Raccoon features not only Muddy Ruckus but Quad Cities' own Black Napkin, whose members had a band with Flaherty called Paranoid by Noon in the 1990's. The Black Napkin will also be releasing a new album, making this a double-album release celebration.

Muddy Ruckus of Portland Maine is a “darkly-inventive” rock duo according to the New York Music Daily. Guitarist Ryan Flaherty and drummer Erika Stahl of Portland, Maine, play a grungy style of railroad indie-punk blues. This stripped-down power-duo blends rootsy guitar and edgy percussion on a suitcase drum kit, and is known for a full rock-band sound.
