Specifically designed for cruising the waterways of the Mississippi River, the Celebration Belle will be the perfect setting for a live blues show featuring New York based bluesman Tas Cru and his band of Tortured Souls. www.tascru.com
Raucous, rowdy, gentle, eccentric, quirky and outright irreverent are all words that fittingly describe Tas Cru and testify to his reputation as one of the most unique of bluesmen playing today.
Bluesman Tas Cru sings and plays a variety of guitars- at home on either electric, acoustic, resonator or cigar box. In his early days, Cru was introduced to the great Sun Records sound and the country blues that later served as a counterpart to the rock-blues he idolized. His first foray into the blues came after leaving the U.S. Navy when he was asked to join a band formed by a former shipmate, an Arkansas-raised bluesman. This partnership proved to be very influential as his repertoire tended towards the older, rough-hewn country blues. Cru's schooling in country blues later served him well and is heard in his original songs, along with the Sun Records and of course his rock-blues influences.
As Downbeat magazine noted, "His songs are blues poetry-crafted with rare verbal flair and his ability to cast a memorable hook is magical."
Live, these songs are performed with power and passion as observed by Living Blues magazine, "The vivacity and sheer joy with which Cru plays is intoxicating!"

JP Soars 2009 International Blues Challenge Winner
in Memphis TN, with his band the Red Hots, and the winner of the 2009 Albert King Award for Best Guitarist, is coming to the Quad Cities while the band is on their Southbound I-95 Tour.
Florida based bluesman JP Soars is not a typical blues guitarist. He has a diverse musical backround that encompasses a multitude of influences. Soars says, "I love T-Bone Walker, Jesse May Hemphill, Wes Montgomery, Django Reinhart, Muddy Waters, Johnny Guitar Watson, Guitar Slim, and Louis Jordan. But I also love Tito Puente, Miles Davis, Hank Williams, Black Sabbath and Slayer."
A gritty and expressive vocalist, Soars elicits signature tones from hollow-body guitars, plus a home-made two-string cigar box guitar for his incendiary slide guitar playing. All of which has helped earn him dates at blues festivals in Germany and Holland and other shows in France, Austria, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Brazil and Columbia as well road work throughout the U.S. and Canada.
For the past several years, Soars has been part of the Regional all-star blues band Southern Hospitality featuring Damon Fowler, Victor Wainright, plus Red Hot's drummer Chris Peet and Fowler's bassist Matt Walker, the Blind Pig recording artists earned a Blues Blast Award for "Best New Artists Debut Release" for their 2013 album Easy Livin', and have toured world-wide.
The Arkansas native, Soars toured the globe and recorded several records with some of the most extreme metal bands in the world before finding his home in the blues. It is these attributes that are giving Soars an instantaneously recognizable style. Go to jpsoars.com
