
WAVERLY, IOWA (March 11, 2024) — Mia Lopez presented her summer research, "Polymer-based Gene/Drug Delivery Nanoplatforms for Pancreatic Cancer," at the annual Iowa Illinois Nebraska STEM Partnership for Innovation in Research and Education (IINspire) conference at Iowa State University in Ames.
Lopez, a junior from Bettendorf, was one of nine Wartburg College students to attend the conference, where students and faculty engaged in a weekend of insightful discussions and presentations.
IINspire is a National Science Foundation-supported regional alliance comprising sixteen neighboring institutions committed to broadening the participation of US students from racial and ethnic groups traditionally underrepresented in the STEM fields.
Wartburg College, a four-year liberal-arts college internationally recognized for community engagement, enrolls about 1,500 students.
