IOWA FALLS, IOWA (March 1, 2022) — Live Healthy Iowa (LHI) is partnering with twelve communities across Iowa to host the 8th annual Live Healthy Iowa 5K. The events, scheduled for Saturday, April 23, will be held in Anamosa, Bondurant, Carroll, Decorah, Dickinson County, Dike, Fort Dodge, Hancock County, Sergeant Bluff, Sibley, Spencer, and Storm Lake. A virtual option is also being offered. Proceeds from the events will benefit local wellness efforts in these communities, as well as Live Healthy Iowa Kids initiatives. The Live Healthy Iowa 5K is sponsored by the Iowa Hawkeyes.

"We're excited to partner with these communities to provide a unique opportunity for participants to actively celebrate the importance of physical activity while supporting local wellness efforts," said Nicole Kennedy, director of wellness initiatives at Live Healthy Iowa.

The 5K portion of the events will begin at 8AM, with the 1K kid's run following at 9AM.

All participants will receive a Live Healthy Iowa 5K T-shirt, race number, finisher medal, and the opportunity to win door prizes. The cost is just $25 online until April 4; and $30 up to the race. The 1K kid's run, for ages 12 and younger, is $5 through race day. For additional event details, or to register, visit www.livehealthyiowa5k.org.
