SPRINGFIELD, ILLINOIS (October 21, 2019) — "The multi-year, data-driven, IDOT investment-plan the governor announced today is a major step in implementing a transportation modernization program that will improve Illinois’ greatest economic asset," said Illinois Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Todd Maisch. "The Multi-Year Plan, along with the Lockbox Amendment, assures tax-payers that their transportation tax-dollars are being invested in improving Illinois' roads, bridges, transit, and freight infrastructure. Revenue raised this summer is already having an impact and the plan shows continued and significant investment is underway. Thank you to Governor [JB] Pritzker, our legislative leaders, and all legislators who voted for this transportation modernization program."
