Summer Festival Fun

The summer festival season is in high gear! You won't want to miss a weekend in the Quad Cities this August. The Mississippi Valley Fair (Aug 1-2) starts off the month with a week of fair food, carnival, exhibits, and big name music acts each night. Then the Bix Beiderbecke Memorial Jazz Festival (Aug 3-5) brings Dixieland music to life with great national bands. You can't miss the ONLY tug-of-war across the Mississippi!  See if Iowa or Illinois wins the trophy during Tugfest (Aug 10-12).

Ya Maka My Weekend (Aug 12) will make you feel like you're in the Caribbean with the music, food, and activities. Bring your canoe or kayak to join the Floatzilla (Aug 19) party on the water as they attempt to break the Guinness World Record. The Riverfront Pops concert (Aug 19) and music of the Beatles hit the stage. Ben Folds headlines the new Alternating Currents Festival (Aug 25-26) rounding out the month.
