DAVENPORT, IOWA (May 22, 2024) — In partnership with our Event Sponsor Northwest Bank and Trust, Common Chord’s Live at 5 Summer Kickoff Block Party will feature three local bands, more than sixteen community cultural organizations with their summer event information and giveaways, and, new this year — a special Afterglow Party with Quad City Arts featuring Silent Disco. The event will take place in downtown Davenport’s Skybridge Courtyard and along Second Street between Main and Brady Streets (which will be closed to vehicles) on Friday, June 7, 5-8PM, with the Afterglow Party immediately following 8-10PM.
Featuring three rockin’ local bands — Einstein’s Sister, The Crew, and QC Rock Academy — so get ready to dance the night away and sing your heart out.
And with fifty days before the Fiftieth BIX7 Race, organizers will be on hand with special giveaways, including a vintage Bix T-shirt contest as well as onsite race registration.
In addition to the live music, the Block Party will offer free activities for the whole family, including face-painting and balloon animals. The Party will feature community cultural partners from across the Quad Cities, sharing information about their summer program offerings. There’s no better way to celebrate that success than highlighting the many varied cultural experiences available throughout our community.”
But the part doesn’t stop there: Immediately following the final band, head to the Skybridge Courtyard for the Afterglow Party and an epic Silent Disco, presented in partnership with Quad City Arts. Featuring DJs: Vamp, TRIPENDICULAR, and Buddha, 8-10PM. Get your groove on and dance like nobody’s watching.
