SPRINGFIELD, ILLINOIS (June 20, 2024) — The Illinois Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Dan Wagner from The Inland Real Estate Group of Companies Inc as its new Board Chairman. Dan was elected to the position during today’s board meeting held at The Inland Real Estate Group in Oak Brook, Illinois.

“The Illinois Chamber has a diverse range of board members and Dan Wagner is a glowing example of that,” said Lou Sandoval, Illinois Chamber President and CEO. “Dan is a committed civic leader with a passion for building a fertile business climate in Illinois. We are looking forward to his leadership on our Board. We are thankful for Ann Deters’ leadership. She has been the steady hand at the chamber helm during some challenging times. For that we are very grateful.”

Dan Wagner is senior vice president of government relations for The Inland Real Estate Group of Companies Inc while serving on numerous real-estate industry, governmental boards, and committees. Dan is the Co-Chair of the newly established DuPage County Dr Martin Luther King Jr Advisory Committee, a trustee for The Conservation Foundation, Vice President of Development for the Three Fires Council Boy Scouts of America, and is a Board Member for the DuPage County Historical Museum Foundation.

"We are delighted to have Dan Wagner appointed the new Board Chair for Illinois Chamber of Commerce," said Ann Deters. "With Dan’s unwavering commitment to our mission and his collaborative leadership approach, he is the ideal candidate to lead our Board. The Illinois Chamber is at a pivotal moment as an organization with many new and exciting things happening. Under President and CEO Lou Sandoval’s leadership, the Illinois Chamber is well-positioned to execute its strategic vision, drive sustainable growth, and enhance the Illinois business environment.”

“Chair Ann Deters has been an inspiration in leadership as she had to lead the Chamber during the most unprecedented and difficult times of the passing of our beloved President and CEO Todd Maisch,” said Dan Wagner. “While we are heartbroken by Todd’s passing, we couldn’t have had our prayers answered any better than after our national search to find Lou Sandoval to take over as our new President and CEO. Lou’s vision and ideas are transforming the Chamber into ways our Board never dreamed possible. The future for the Illinois Chamber is bright and I am so honored to be taking up the mantle of Chair from Ann and to serve the entire Illinois Business Community to continue to strive to make Illinois an even better place to do business.”
