DAVENPORT, IOWA (August 4, 2022) — The Davenport Public Library will be hosting Lupe Hernandez, Student Success Advisor with the Iowa College Access Network on Tuesday, August 16, Eastern, 6PM.

The Library welcomes Lupe Hernandez, Student Success Advisor with the Iowa College Access Network, and invites all teens and their grownups to attend ICAN's presentation on planning and paying for college and career. There are many post-high school options available to students through education and training programs. This program engages students and their grownups in a discussion of the planning process for selecting career pathways and education and training programs, as well as a review of the steps to the financial aid process. This is one of Miss Amber's favorite programs to offer each year because ICAN and Lupe are AMAZING and she wants everyone to know about the resources that ICAN offers to Iowa students.

This program covers:

Career Exploration and Assessment

Academic Preparation and Requirements

Admission Process and Requirements

College/Training Program Selection

Financial Aid Process

Understanding Costs — Cost of Attendance

Scholarships Process
