JOHNSTON, IOWA (July 30, 2019) — Iowa Public Television's 50th-anniversary celebrations continue at this year's Iowa State Fair. Visitors to IPTV's booth in the Varied Industries Building will find an engaging exhibit with familiar faces, giveaways, and fun for the whole family. Fans will enjoy IPTV's brand-new anniversary exhibit, remembering favorite programs and characters from decades past, as well as today's can't-miss series. Visitors will also get a sneak-peek at what's coming soon to IPTV. Each day of the fair, KIDS Clubhouse Adventures co-hosts Dan Wardell and Abby Brown will be available for hugs and high-fives at the IPTV booth between 11AM and 2PM. Fans can also take selfies with life-size images of Julia Child, Red Green, Rick Steves, Big Bird, Clifford, and dozens more. In addition to enjoying the Varied Industries Building's air-conditioning, fairgoers can beat the heat with IPTV's free fan giveaways. Between special anniversary-themed fans and KIDS Clubhouse Adventures "Flat Danbot" fans, visitors of all ages are sure to have fun staying cool at the fair. IPTV will also continue its 49-year-old tradition of bringing state-fair highlights statewide. This year's programming begins August 7 with a live broadcast of the 2019 Iowa State Fair Parade, continues August 12-18 with Fair 2019 and the State Fair Talent Championship 2019, and concludes August 27 with a broadcast of the Shining Stars Talent Show.
