LETTS, IOWA (November 20, 2024) — Cedar River Haven, a recovery residence for women in Southeast Iowa, will welcome the public to an open house and ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, coinciding with Giving Tuesday. Founded by Freda Sojka, creator of the iconic Bug Soother, the non-profit combines safe housing, life-skills training, and mentorship to support women in recovery.

The event will take place at Cedar River Haven, located at a restored former church camp outside Columbus Junction. The Muscatine Chamber of Commerce will host the ribbon-cutting at 4:30PM, followed by facility tours, an afternoon tea, and networking opportunities.

A Vision of Empowerment

“Cedar River Haven exists to provide women in recovery with the tools and support they need to rebuild their lives,” said Freda Sojka, founder and executive director. “Our Giving Tuesday Open House is a chance to share our mission and celebrate the incredible progress our residents have made.”
