
WAVERLY, IOWA (February 24, 2025) — Wartburg's Castle Singers and Kammerstreicher will continue their 2025 regional concert tour on Friday, February 28, with a performance at Christ's Family Church, 4601 Utica Ridge Rd, Davenport.
The concert will begin at 7:30PM and features the Bettendorf High School Chamber Orchestra led by Megan Cooney. A free-will offering will be accepted to support future tours.
The Castle Singers will perform several pieces, including "Ring Out, Ye Bells," Cyndi Lauper's "Time After Time," "Fields of Gold," and "Bridge Over Troubled Water." Kammerstreicher will perform pieces by Antonín Dvořák, Felix Mendelssohn, and Aaron Copland, among others. The ensembles will join together for two pieces, "Never Never Land" from "Peter Pan" and "Shout to the Lord." A full program is available at wartburg.edu/CS-K-tour.
Castle Singers is a select group of vocalists who perform a variety of chamber repertoire, varying from Renaissance madrigals and motets to contemporary pop and vocal jazz. Castle Singers is conducted by Nicki Toliver, Wartburg's associate director of choral activities and associate professor of music, and is celebrating 75 years of music making.
Kammerstreicher is an auditioned chamber string ensemble directed by Rebecca Nederhiser. Named for Wartburg's rich German heritage, Kammerstriecher means "chamber strings." Kammerstreicher has toured regionally, nationally and internationally, working with renowned artists such as Reena Esmail, Tim Brown, Jocelyn Hagen, and the Neave Trio.
