MOLINE, ILLINOIS (March 27, 2025) — The Quad Cities Chamber offered candidates for mayor and alderperson in East Moline, Moline and Rock Island the opportunity to provide answers to business-specific questions. In addition, an overview on the Home Rule Referendum in East Moline is available.

“Voting for your elected officials is the most important and impactful way business leaders can make their voices heard,” said Ryan Sempf, Executive Director of Government Affairs for the Quad Cities Chamber. "We encourage everyone to get out and vote for the candidate you believe represents your values.”

Questions include:

  • Why should a business leader vote for you?
  • How will you support current and future economic development in the Quad Cities region?

  • How will you approach proposals for new regulations that come across your desk?
  • What is your approach to regional collaboration with government partners in Iowa and Illinois?
  • What should your city do to address the housing shortage in the Quad Cities?

Questionnaires were sent to candidates vying for the following seats:

  • Rock Island: Mayor and Alderperson Ward 1, Ward 3, Ward 5, and Ward 7
  • East Moline: Mayor and Alderperson Ward 1, Ward 3, Ward 5, Ward 6, and Ward 7
