Sreya Alla, newly elected, 2025-26 Iowa State Secretary

BETTENDORF, IOWA (April 3, 2025) — Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) brought together more than 1,000 students and academic advisers from cities across Iowa to the Doubletree Hilton Convention Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, from March 30 to April 1, 2025. The annual FBLA conference brings together career and technical education (CTE) students to compete in more than one hundred competitive events. Students also attended learning sessions with industry leaders and elected a state student officer team. The State Leadership Conference is an opportunity to highlight the skills and knowledge gained in the classroom and apply these skills in real world scenarios and case studies.

Seven students from Bettendorf High School were in attendance and competed in a variety of business and entrepreneurship competitive events. After getting passed the first round of competitors, six students were able to become national qualifiers. This is an outstanding accomplishment for our local students. Advisers Sarah Roeder, Mark Pisel, and Angie Mojeiko could not be more pleased with their success this year.

This year, Bettendorf also had a student run for state office for FBLA. Sreya Alla gave a campaign speech and ran an informational booth to try and sell herself as the next Iowa FBLA State Secretary. The members of Iowa FBLA trusted in her and voted as the next secretary for Iowa FBLA. This is the second state officer from Bettendorf in the last six years.

“We are so proud of our student members, who have been working diligently to prepare for the State Leadership Conference,” Bettendorf FBLA adviser, Angie Mojeiko said. “They impressed industry leaders with their mastery of competitive event subjects, made powerful new connections with students around Iowa, and demonstrated their readiness to enter the workforce.”
